英語語法(2) 冠詞

冠詞有兩種，一是不定冠詞a／an，另外一種是定冠詞the(有的語法學家說有三種冠詞，這另外一種是零念冠詞，這裡我們不討論)。

一、不定冠詞及其用法

1. 可數名詞在表泛指時，要加不定冠詞“a／an”表示“一個”，“每一”相當於one或表示某一

2. a用在子音音素(即音標中的子音而不是子音字母)之前，如a European scientist。an用在母音音素(音標中的母音而不是指母音字母)之前，如an X?ray examination

3. 跟漢語一樣，並列的兩個單數名詞表示一個概念，第二個名詞前的不定冠詞a可以省去，以避免重複

二、定冠詞的用法

1. 一般來說，普通名詞有特指和泛指，如果特指，就要加定冠詞；如果泛指，可數名詞前加不定冠詞，或用其複數形式

2. 定冠詞the主要和名詞連用，表示某些特定的人或事物

3. 由of引起的限定性短語(作定語)所修飾的詞前加the

4. 表示身體的某一部位，用the代替物主代詞my, our, your, his, her等

5. 表示江河海洋，海峽海灣，山脈和群島及有些湖泊之前用the

6. 定冠詞the加姓氏的複數，表示某某一家人，如果做主語，謂語動詞要用複數

7. 當一個抽象名詞，不表示一般的概念而是表示某一特定的內容時加定冠詞the

8. 由普通名詞和一些其他詞構成的專有名詞前加the
