authentic和genuine在表達被鑑定的藝術品/古玩是不是仿品時，都有“真品”的意思。在表達這個義項時，兩者沒有區別
他們的區別在於：
authentic還有“地道”的意思，就是跟真品沒有差別，比如：authentic Mexican meal（地道的墨西哥餐）、authentic medieval costume（地道的中世紀服裝）、authentic colonial farmhouse（地道的殖民地時期農舍）
genuine還有“真誠”的意思，比如：he has always shown a genuine concern for poor people.
