Linux: Desktop Environment DE GUI

Check which desktop environment you are using

1. echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP

   

2. FROM GUI
   

   

3. gnome-shell --version

4. gdm3 --version

Display Manager VS Display Server

Check whether Wayland or Xorg is in use(Display Server)

1. 必須使用GUI terminal, 必須是當前登入使用者
   

   echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

   

2. loginctl list-sessions
   loginctl show-session SESSION-ID -p Type

Change Display server

Login as Root in Ubuntu GUI
