今天我們就來研究一下當呼叫startActivity的時候,一個新的Activity是如何啟動的?

從程式碼中我們可以看到Activity中的startActivity最終呼叫的是自身的startActivifyForResult方法,而在startActivifyForResult方法中,如果mParent是null的話,就會執行下面的程式碼

可以看到最終也是呼叫的Instrumentation中的execStartActivity方法。可能有人不明白為什麼會區分mParent空和非空的情況,以及這個mParent究竟是幹什麼的?這個功能用的很少,我們大都知道View中存在父子關係,卻不知道Activity也有父子關係,Activity中的父子關係和巢狀沒有關係,這只是一個邏輯上的概念,你可以在Manifest檔案中通過android:parentActivityName指定其的父Activity。具體功能可以參考官方文件
Context的另外一個實現類是ContextImpl,這個方法的使用範圍更廣,在任何可以訪問到Context的地方都可以呼叫Context.startActivity方法。下面看一下ContextImpl的實現

是不是很眼熟?這個和Activity的startActivityForResult最終呼叫的方法是一樣的,都是Instrumentation.execStartActivity方法,由上我們可以得出startActivity無論哪種實現都會呼叫Instrumentation中的execStartActivity方法。 通過閱讀原始碼有發現兩點需要注意
- startActivityForResult這個方法是Activity獨有的,可能有人會說Fragment中也有startActivityForResult,但是如果你看Fragment原始碼的話就會發現,Fragment最終也會呼叫的Activity中的startActivityForResult的方法。
- Context呼叫startActivity的時候,如果這個Context不是Activity的Context,就必須設定FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK,否則就會報錯。可以嘗試在Service中啟動Activity。
Instrumentation.execStartActivity
Instrumentaion這個類是專門用來做單元測試的。Android應用程式和普通的java程式不同,在做UI測試的時候往往需要在機器上執行才可以,Instrumentation則可以模擬出應用與系統的互動,更方便的做UI單元測試。當然這並不是今天的重點,我們還是來看一下execStartActivity方法的實現。

返回值IActivityManager是一個巨長的介面,裡面定義和Activity相關的很多操作,我們要找的startActivity也是在這裡定義。gDefault是ActivityManagerNative內部的一個私有靜態成員。

上面的程式碼也是一個典型的Binder IPC呼叫,我們可以把我們的app理解成客戶端,Android系統的底層理解為服務端,客戶端的部分操作是無法直接執行的,需要服務端去執行,那怎麼去通知服務端呢,這就需要用Android的Binder機制了,mRemote.transact(START_ACTIVITY_TRANSACTION, data, reply, 0)可以當作是一個http請求,既然有請求那一定也有結果處理,在ActivityManagerNative裡還有一個一大串的swich-case程式碼,專門用來處理系統的返回的結果。我們直接看START_ACTIVITY_TRANSACTION部分的程式碼

startActivityAsUser的引數和之前沒什麼區別,但是多了一個引數userId,這個是由UserHandle.getCallingUserId()方法,之後通過native方法返回的一個10000以內的值。 mActivityStarter是一個ActivityStarter物件。
