SYMPTOMS


 Installation of 11g Grid Control fails at 'OMS Configuration' step.
omsca_20101007101216.log generated in OMS_HOME/cfgtoollogs/omsca has following error messages:

emctl.log generated in OMS_HOME/omsca/logs20101007095254/emLogs/sysman/log has following errors:

There is no loop back/local host entry int the hosts file.

SOLUTION


1) The hosts file have only the following entry:

10.10.10.10 test.oracle.com test


2) Please modify the hosts file to have the following format

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
10.10.10.10 test.oracle.com  test


Added loop back/local host  entry.

3)  Once done, retry the GC  installation.
