Nimbus is an open source toolkit that allows you to turn your cluster into an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud. Feature highlights include:

• Two sets of Web Service interfaces: Amazon EC2 WSDLs and Grid community WSRF,

• Implementation based on the Xen hypervisor (KVM coming soon), read more about supported

• Can be configured to use familiar schedulers like PBS or SGE to schedule virtual machines,

• Launches self-configuring virtual clusters with one click,

• Defines an extensible architecture that allows you to customize the software to the needs of your project,

Science Clouds

Science Clouds provide compute cycles in the cloud for scientific communities using .

The Nimbus cloud client allows you to provision customized compute nodes (that we call "workspaces") that you have full control over using a leasing model based on the Amazon's EC2 service.

The Science Clouds have two objectives: (1) to make it easy for scientific and educational projects to experiment with cloud computing and (2) to enable us to learn how to make cloud computing a useful tool for the scientific community.
