Oracle 11G PSU命名變化
今天一個朋友說因Oracle 11.2.0.4 DB BUG需要裝PSU 11.2.0.4.171017，問我裝過有什麼問題沒

很久沒有打PSU了，印象中Oracle PSU都是這樣：
Database Patch Set Update : 11.2.0.4.5 (19769489)
Database Patch Set Update : 11.2.0.4.6
....
查了下自述文 Patch 26392168 - Database Patch Set Update 11.2.0.4.171017 (Includes CPUOct2017)
原來從CPUJan2016 起，PSU命名規則改為：11.2.0.4.YYMMDD
1 Patch Information

From CPUJan2016 onwards, the 5th digit of the version number will be changed to reflect the release date in the format YYMMDD. See My Oracle Support Document for more information.

Oracle 12.2.0.2開始將改名Oracle 18
另外，從Oracle 12.2.0.2開始Oracle將以年度命名版本來釋出，Oracle 12.2.0.2對應Oracle 18 (2018年釋出)，Oracle 12.2.0.3 對應Oracle 19

Release 12.2: New releases will be annual and the version will be the last two digits of the release year. The release originally planned as 12.2.0.2 will now be release 18, and the release originally planned as 12.2.0.3 will be release 19. Releases 18 and 19 will be treated as under the umbrella of 12.2 for Lifetime Support purposes. The current plan is for Oracle Database 19 to be the last release for 12.2. This may change in the future to Oracle 20 as the last release for 12.2.
