Dear Principal Shen , Dear teachers and students from Nottingham, I am honored to stand here today and share my thoughts with you. . .

Nottingham is a very respectable university. Many years ago, I saw in the news that Nottingham set up a branch school in Ningbo. It’s our ningbo’s Luck ,our younger generation’s honor. This is very wiseshen decision of Nottingham. I heard that Nottingham scores very high in admissions, the highest among all universities in Ningbo, and even comparable to the scores of Zhejiang University. This shows that the quality of Nottingham students is impeccable! I heard that many of the teachers at the University of Nottingham are foreigners. the students here have quite international and broad perspective. The day before I came to give a speech, I heard that your guys want me to address a speech in English so the teachers and students here will be easier to understand and have more affinity, feeling better , and our foreign teachers will appear to be more respected. Well , this is the first time in my life to address a speech in English facing hundreds of people sitting in front of me . However, my recruiting team members told me: Hi, boss, if you gonna address a speech in English , the students in Nottingham would think , Wow ,look at the old guy ,not bad ,he can speak English, and believe the Loctek company is an international company, most probably . . . Well, let me try.

Today, the topic I want to share with you is: Down-to-earth way， dream- to- sky High. Chinese means “腳踏實地，夢想萬里”. I know that we young people all have dreams, and we all desire to be successful, to be standing out, to be someone at this world. I think these dreams are awesome. There is nothing to blame for having a dream, but something that should be encouraged. As you know, without dreams, life is not exciting and meaningless. Without dream, life is not passionate. Dreams are the driving force for us to move forward. They can ignite the enthusiasm and bravery of our lives. Especially when we are helpless, confused, and lost, it allows us to regain courage and perseverance. If you have a dream, you must chase it, work for it , fight for it , and move forward. However, please note that there is a key issue here when you set out for your dreams. Where is the future we dream of? Which direction do you head for? What is the future? What will happen in the future? Tag along with me, i will discuss with you,draw you a road map and share the future with you guys. . .

The first thing I want to say is that the world will become more and more multi polarized in the future, with the focus shifting from Europe and America to East Asia. Looking back at history, about 1894, the Qing Dynasty in China, the US GDP surpassed that of the UK. In 1905 ,the US also surpassed the UK in terms of per capita GDP. Around 1960, the United States’ GDP accounted for the highest proportion of the world’s GDP, about 40%. It then gradually declined, and currently accounts for about 24% of the world’s GDP.
China’s GDP in the Han Dynasty accounted for about 26% of the world’s GDP, which was on par with the Roman Empire. China’s Tang Dynasty accounted for about 58% of the world’s GDP. The second place in the Eastern Roman Empire was about 9%, and the third place in the Arab Empire was 7%; China’s Northern Song Dynasty was very glorious, and the proportion of GDP standing in the world was an astonishing 80%. There were 40 cities with more than 100,000 households in the Song Dynasty. Today when you watch TV series and you would find that women in the Tang Dynasty had very low and tight corsets，looks very much sexy. What does this mean ? This means that the people were rich and open-minded at that moment. In the same period, there were only 40,000 people in London at that time. However, in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, China’s GDP as a percentage of the world dropped from 35% to 10%. Later, China entered the Republic of China period and the civil war until the founding of New China. China’s GDP accounted for the world’s share of the decline, reaching a minimum of about 1.5%. Among them, the time of china’s lowest proportion of world GDP was around 1980. The reason here is that during this period of time, China has not developed, and countries such as the United States, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, and the former Soviet Union have developed rapidly. . . Here I want to thank the great chief designer Mr. Deng Xiaoping. It was he, who advocated seeking truth from facts and promoted reform and opening up, and it was he ,who restored China’s college entrance examination system. It was he, at the the end of the 1970s, give the land to households, reform and keep opening up, and the opening of coastal cities. From that time and ever, China’s GDP has climbed from the lowest level to last year’s share of world GDP at approximately 16.5%, ranking second in the world. If the European Union is considered as a single country, the EU’s GDP in 2019 accounted for 21.8% of the world’s GDP, then China ranked third; if the United Kingdom does Brexit, after deducting the United Kingdom’s share of about 3% of the world’s GDP Ratio, China may surpass the EU this year. If the GDPs of China, Japan, and South Korea are added together, they probably account for about 24% of the world’s GDP. If ASEAN accounts for about 7% of world GDP, then the entire RCEP region will exceed 31% of GDP. Taking into account this year’s corona virus epidemic, the Chinese government has shown extremely excellent epidemic controlling capability and resumption of work and production capability. Compared with the intensified worse and worse corona epidemic in the United States and Europe, China’s GDP ratio will certainly continue to increase.
One more perspective, the number of Chinese college graduates is nearly 9 million per year, and it will soon reach 10 million per year. Nearly half of them are students of science and engineering. In the United States, only 570,000 are science and engineering students. These intellectual resources will greatly promote China’s innovation and development. Let’s look farther into the future. If China builds large airplanes and sells them like high-speed railways bullets , the quantity and quality of China’s GDP will be further improved. To sum up, the above analysis of the GDP of the United States, the European Union and China, we can clearly see that the world is becoming more and more balanced from single polarity of the United States, and the trend of multi polarization in the United States, the European Union and China is very obvious , The center of gravity is increasingly tilted towards China and East Asia. Therefore, as young people, we can dream far away and be home from all corners of the world. But your future work must not miss East Asia. More precisely, we must not miss China. All you gonna do is either connect with China, or work with China, work for China , work in China…

The second thing I want to say is that the future world must be the world of Internet of Things and the cloud, and what I wanna say , the future is a digital world. The power of trends is huge. Any person’s growth and development must take advantage of the trends of the times. In another words, people’s success is mostly due to the times. For example, in 2003, Mr. Liu Qiangdong of JD.com borrowed the night to set up a stall and just started to engage in e-commerce. At that time, Suning and GoMe were already giants in the market. However, if we look at today, the stock market value of JD.com is almost one trillion yuan. But the market value of Suning and Gome are 85 billion RMB and 19.6 billion HKD respectively. Do you know what happened in 2003? Yes , SARS, SARS occurred In China in 2003. Yes, SARS has changed people’s shopping behavior to a certain extent and promoted the development of e-commerce to a certain extent. Look at Alibaba today, its market value is several trillion. When did Taobao start? Let me tell you, it was May 2003. At the beginning of this year, the global corona epidemic, in terms of the number of infected people and the number of deaths, and the degree of economic impact, are far severe than SARS. There is so many physical stores which went bankrupt. And people spend more time doing online shopping. As you might know , Loctek online business is getting better and better. Similarly, we have reason to believe that the impact of the corona epidemic on human consumption behavior will be huge. In fact, the development trend of the Internet and the online shopping trend at consumer goods retail industry has been strengthening for many yeays. Do you know when Amazon was founded? The Amazon Bookstore, established in 1995, went public in 1997 and it’s stock market value has now reached 1.57 trillion US dollars. At the same time, i have seen a lot of information from China Credit Insurance company and various news media that a large number of physical stores continue to close down. Do you know why? The Internet is an open platform, and everyone is open to competition and efficient. There is no limitation of physical space. No matter how big your store is, it is estimated that it will be difficult for 20,000 people to flood in. You know double 11 ? yes, more than 500 million people came to shop on Double Eleven, just in one day . Therefore, what I can suggest for our Nottingham students here is that in the future, your work should best be linked to the Internet, the Internet of Things, and the cloud.

In the third sentence, I want to tell you that China’s market will be extremely huge in the future, and consumption upgrades will continue. Everyone knows that China is a big manufacturing country. Although people has various criticisms about the quality of China’s manufacturing industry, we also see that the GDP of China’s manufacturing industry has exceeded the combined industry GDP of the three countries of the United States, Germany, and Japan. What’s more important, is that the scale of China’s domestic demand market in 2019, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods exceeded 41 trillion yuan (over 6 trillion US dollars at last year’s average exchange rate), a year-on-year increase of 8%. In the same period, the total retail sales of consumer goods in the United States in 2019 was $6.2 trillion. We predict that this year or next year, China’s consumer market will most likely surpass that of the United States. Do you know the significance of this matter? This means that if it gains a foothold in the Chinese market and occupies a larger market share, even if the overseas market fails, the company will also have a large scale and still survive. This is very important to the Chinese companies, and also overseas companies. and it means that we have a bottom line for survival and increase our resistance to foreign countries. More importantly, when the Chinese market becomes the number one in the world, it will attract a large number of multinational companies to move in their regional and even global headquarters. And china market will become the first place for its products. Major companies will attach great importance to the relevant standards of the Chinese market, and even china standards are expected to become world standards. Furthermore, an active and huge consumer market is likely to give birth to many new industries and new economic development patterns. In the huge consumer market of trillions of dollars, some of its segments, may exceed the entire market size of other countries. Chinese government’s top-level design does have an super expert, and proposed the concept of double cycles. One cycle is the main force of manufacturing, which is export; the other cycle is the main force of domestic demand, which is consumption. In fact, since 2015, the line of China’s exports against GDP has flattened out; and the line of china’s imports against GDP have been rising.
For our enterprises, especially in Ningbo, a manufacturing city, we must not only do a good job in exporting and advanced manufacturing, but also lay out the domestic market.

Next, I will talk about the development strategy and logic of Loctek. For companies like Loctek, which are already on the big and ergonomic industry, then move forward with full strength. Loctek’s main business is linear motion system, ergonomic office, smart home, and cross-border e-commerce. So, in my company we need to have a team to investigate and analyze market needs, establish requirements, then design, mold, manufacture, then export, and then import to LAC’s overseas warehouses in the United States, Europe and Japan.And then we sell the goods through Amazon, and various public platforms and also Loctek’s own independent website platform . I have done a comparative study of listed companies in China and the United States. I found that if you make a physical product, such as our standing desk, or other products like air conditioners, small electrical home appliances, switches, etc., the market value of this type company will be somewhere two to three hundred billion maxium. Moreover, these are very hard work. For example, Midea, Gree, or Ningbo Bulls, they have developed for 30 to 40 years. They are very successful and not easy, and they working hard and they are very respectable. At the other side , jd.com and Taobao were established in 2003, and they have been in business for 17 years. Do you know Meituan? They were established in 2011 and have been in operation for 9 years now, with TODAY’S market value of 1.5 trillion HKD. Including the Amazon mentioned above, they all have a common feature, that is, a platform, a platform that serves a large number of consumers and enterprises. Please note that this is an Internet platform.
So, I have a dream. First part of all, I will do a good job of linear motion system . I have upgraded your life by designing excellent products, and your back pain is no longer existed . I help the people , improve you r life, make you happy , and I make money . As you know, PRODUCT manufacturing and REASEARCHING , DEVELOPING is the key strength of Chinese company ,especially Ningbo Enterprise. Cause we have so many engineers, cause Ningbonese like to be rooted in manufacturing for a long time? We should make good use of China’s human resource bonus , engineer bonus. This is first part of my dream , the base of my dream, that is I call the down-to-earth way in my understanding.

Secondly, I am wondering whether I can buy and lease more overseas warehouses to serve and help more and more small and medium-sized enterprises going international and Loctek become a platform for Chinese manufacturing brands going overseas. Do you know the difficulties of small businesses? When I first started a cross-border e-commerce business around 10 years ago, I continued to lose money for four years. why? At that time, I was not experienced enough, sometimes the product selection was not good, the market research was not so accurate, the design was not so good; also the business scale was small at that time, and the price discounts given by the express company like FEDEX and UPS were not good enough, such as giving us 40% off. Pls be understood that the price of express delivery accounts for 16%-40% of the price of a product. But now our e commerce scale is much bigger. For example, when e-commerce sells hundreds of millions of dollars a year, our express delivery fee is only 60% off. If you SMEs use my warehouse, you can also use my account service uniformly. This is equivalent to organizing a group to go overseas for group buying. In addition, our Filipino customers can provide customer service for SMEs. Our marketing team can provide brand communication services to SMEs. Our laboratory can provide testing services for small and medium enterprises. . . On 6.15, the Prime Minister LIKEQIANG made a video connection with me and praised Loctek for being an innovative enterprise and a platform-based enterprise. In the past, therer are pools of young people in Ningbo doing individual foreign trade business. In the future ,is there possible that pools of young people would do individual cross-border e-commerce ? From now on, will Loctek be able to serve tens of thousands of hundreds of thousands or even millions of small, medium and micro enterprises? If Loctek can really serve 1 million companies and each company pays 100,000 RMB a year in return, then the profit will be hundreds of billions, which is a company with stock market value of several trillion.
