Symptoms

OPatch 10.2 fails with the following error stack when trying to list the products/patches installed in a 10.2 home:

SEVERE:OUI-67028:Inventory load failed... OPatch cannot load inventory for the given Oracle Home.
SEVERE:OUI-67073:LsInventorySession failed: Unable to create patchObject

OPatch 11.2 is able to list the products/patches installed in the 10.2 home (but OPatch 11.2 should not be used against 10.2 homes)

Changes

A patch was accidentally applied to the home using OPatch 11.2 instead of OPatch 10.2

Cause

Early versions of OPatch 10.2 are unable to parse updates that OPatch 11.2 makes to the inventory

Solution

Download the latest OPatch version for 10.2 (currently 10.2.0.5) and use this to apply, list and rollback patches in the 10.2 home
