Goal

The present document provides the installation logs location associated with an ASM configuration, this logs are required to troubleshoot & diagnostic ASM/ASMLIB issues for Oracle Support.

Solution

1) Please collect the ASM installation logs (10.2, 11.1 & 11.2 release) as follow (Unix & Linux):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> tar -cvf oracle_home_cfgtoollogs.tar /cfgtoollogs/*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> tar -cvf oracle_home_logs.tar /log//*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> tar -cvf oracle_base_cfgtoollogs.tar $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> tar -cvf oracle_base_diag.tar $ORACLE_BASE/diag/*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

$> compress oracle_home_cfgtoollogs.tar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> compress oracle_home_logs.tar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> compress oracle_base_cfgtoollogs.tar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$> compress oracle_base_diag.tar
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Note: Please compress those *.Z files in just one file (*.zip) and upload it.

2) On Windows configurations, the installation logs are located at:

2.1) Please confirm your exact OS release:

C:\> systeminfo

2.2) OS logs location:

Note: Please compress those files in just one file (*.zip) and upload it.

3) If this is a RAC configuration, then please collect the installation logs from each node.
