Purpose

Beginning with the January 2008 CPU release, Oracle will no longer be providing a Security Advisory and document in My Oracle Support.

Oracle Critical Patch Update - January 2008 and Beyond

Apply the latest available patchset for your installation, then the Critical Patch Update (CPU) for your final version. Oracle currently delivers the latest Critical Patch Updates on a quarterly basis: January, April, July, and October of each year. You should continually install these updates to secure your installation. Note that all fixes are rolled into the next patchset and CPUs are made available on all versions under error correction support. To obtain Critical Patch Updates, Oracle recommends the following as a starting point:

  • Check for latest Advisory and within are links to obtain patches
  • An Advisory documents the vulnerabilities for a CPU release.
  • A Patch Availability Document provides the cumulative patches for each product version within Lifetime Support as defined by Error Correction Policy Policies.
