This procedure assumes that you wish to disable and remove Oracle Fail

Safe from your Windows NT cluster.

Before you remove the database, make sure that all users and all connections

to the database virtual node are disconnected.

Then proceed with the following steps. Carefully execute these steps in

order from the primary node.

1. Using Oracle Fail Safe Manager, remove the following:

o All Fail Safe databases from your Fail Safe groups.

Note: At this point Fail Safe manager tells you that it is removing

the instance from the group. Once the database is removed,

it appears in the Standalone folder of its primary node.

o All Fail Safe groups.

2. Exit Oracle Fail Safe Manager.

3. Invoke the Oracle Installer.

Note: For 3.0.X, use the Fail Safe cdrom, run the installer, and

deinstall the product. Then select the Fail Safe product.

4. Remove the Oracle Fail Safe Manager, and/or Oracle Fail Safe Server.

When you are prompted to unregister the Oracle Database Resource

from the cluster, select YES.

5. Reboot the primary node.

Carefully execute the following steps in order from the secondary node.

6. Invoke the Oracle Installer.

7. Remove the Oracle Fail Safe Manager, and/or Oracle Fail Safe Server.

8. Reboot the secondary node.
